In our mother tongue, Polish, when you call someone "Królowa/Król Parkietu" it means "Queen/King of the Dancefloor" - which is like... I think that's the highest praise of one's dancing skills (at least where I come from 🤪).
And what do you know, I mentioned this as a trivia on our first ever Xmas card, and in return one of your clients sent this lovely picture (no. 1) of their kitchen 'dancefloor'... with a disco ball! 🪩🤩
This morning I thought to myself that actually in a way we all are dancers in this parquet reclaiming process! There are many steps to take in order to achieve the final result (said dancefloor, let's go with that 😉); from finding and sourcing the floors, negotiating with the people we buy it from (it can be really hard sometimes - believe me xD), transporting it into our workshop, segregating the blocks by size and palletising them (and again, if one doesn't pay attention, it's easy to end up with blocks with a 0,5 cm difference mixed up and put on one pallet 🤦♀️),to then finding the best way to clean them (and do it right, ha!), then delivery - literally a LOT of steps 😜, and then of course, the laying process... that one stage, where you really can't get the 'steps' wrong...
Maybe it's just me and my head filled with wood and bitumen dust, but it sure looks like all these stages have this one thing in common: this reclaimed parquet journey is in fact yet another dance type with different dance partners involved in the process 😃 as I always say, it's an adventure! A dancing adventure! 🪩💃🕺
To wrap it up nicely: if you have your heart set on reclaimed parquet... make sure you choose your dancing partners right! 🙋♀️🙆♀️🫶 And as a result, become the Queen or King of the Dancefloor in your home and keep on dancing through life, practice your dance moves and keep getting better - and while you're at it, have as much fun as you possibly can! 😍🎇❤️
